Last week, 2nd and 3rd class enjoyed taking part in the Food Dudes programme. Along with this we also integrated the theme of food across our lessons.
In art and SPHE, we learned all about balanced meals and the food pyramid. The children were tasked with created balanced breakfasts, lunches and dinners using clay and paint.
In history, we explored the history of farming in Ireland. We investigated how farming has changed over the last 6000 years!!! We also explored how butter was made before technology and new farming machinery, in butter churners and we even had a go at making butter ourselves by shaking double, heavy cream.
