1st Class visit Balrath Wood

Despite the bad weather, Thursday the 10th of October marked a fun afternoon’s visit to Balrath Woods for 1st Class. The trip, although a week late, was made to mark National Tree Day. It was wonderful to watch the children engaging with and exploring this beautiful woodland. We spotted all sorts of trees and flora: oak, sycamore, the ‘Great Beech Tree’, ash, horse-chestnut and many others. There was also a visit from a friendly robin red-breast and even a (highly questionable) sighting of an owl :)!!!! A huge thank you goes out to Mrs. Marry for all her help and for her wealth of knowledge on Balrath/Knockcomra Woods. The children, as always, were a pleasure and their behaviour was second to none. A thoroughly enjoyable trip had by all !!!!
