North-Leinster Champions

Well done to our boys soccer team that won the North Leinster Championship yesterday.

We played Loch na Gair NS from Westmeath in our first game. This was a tight tense game all the way through with two good teams giving their all. At halftime the score was 1-1, Kentstown taking the lead before Loch na Gair equalised. In the 2nd half Kentstown again regained the lead before Loch na Gair again equalised. Great saves from both goalkeepers kept the score at 2-2 before 2 goals in the final 5 mins helped us eventually win out 4-2.

Next up was Scoil Mhuire from Longford. At halftime we lead 3-0, which included 1 superb team goal. 2 further goals were then added in the second half to give us a 5-0 win.

Kentstown’s final game was v Rampark NS from Louth. At halftime, we lead 5-0. The bench was emptied for the 2nd half with our subs adding some cracking goals to help us to an impressive 11-0 win in the end.

Well done to all the boys for their efforts over the past few weeks leading up to yesterday. Thanks to everyone who came to support the boys in the MDL and of course to the Kentstown NS students and staff who gave us an amazing welcome when we arrived back to school.

The boys will now compete in the Leinster Championship which will be held at the MDL on Wednesday 15th March.
